1 Company of the day

SourceCAN now features a Company of the Day on our homepage. All showcased companies are pulled from the Virtual Trade Show. To guarantee your company will be next, please ensure you have activated your booth, and all selected categories (i.e. Products, Services, Multimedia) have been populated with information.

2 United Nations Standard Product & Service Code (UNSPSC)

UNSPSC has been integrated into the SourceCAN web site. What does this mean to you the user? With this single coding convention users no longer have to distinguish between a GSIN, SIC, or NAICS code. Not sure what UNSPSC to use? SourceCAN has a convenient look up table accessible on the site located on the Match Profile page. Click here to find out more information about the UNSPSC code.

3 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

On December 9, 2004 SourceCAN and China Bidding Limited signed a MOU in Beijing, China. This agreement will provide SourceCAN with Chinese electronic tender opportunities from the environmental, machine/electronics, light industry, science/technology and telecommunications/computer sectors, which are all eligible to Canadian companies. In addition, available tenders for the Beijing 2008 Olympics and the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) project alerts will be posted to the SourceCAN. These tenders will be available to you in mid January 2005.

4 Business Opportunities

We have reorganized and increased the feeds available in the Match Profile section. It is now easier to add multiple feed selections to your profile. Users can enter UNSPSC categories, as well as additional details and keywords in order to refine their search.

5 Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

SourceCAN is pleased and honoured to announce our involvement with the 2010 Olympic Commerce Center. SourceCAN is working directly with the Province of British Columbia (2010 Vancouver Olympic Games Secretariat) and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) to provide Canadians with Olympic related tenders in a convenient manner fashioned after the SourceCAN service.

6 Partnerships

SourceCAN would like to welcome its new addition to the Management Board, Business Gateway. BusinessGateway.ca is the main Government of Canada portal for Canadian businesses. It is part of the Government On-Line initiative. It is designed to provide easy access to relevant, frequently used services and information offered by the federal, provincial and territorial governments. Welcome aboard Business Gateway!

7 Working with Associations

SourceCAN is working with the new language industry association called AILIA. There will soon be sector specific business opportunities accessible on the AILIA site, courtesy of SourceCAN.

8 Missions and Events

SourceCAN has developed an easy to use database of missions and events from around the world. This is your chance to find out if there are any events in your sector that would be of interest to you. Click here to view our database of mission and events.

10 Match Profiles

You can now effortlessly edit and delete your match profile. If you are receiving too many opportunities or not enough you can go back into your profile and make adjustments or delete them altogether and start fresh.
